LG webOS Player Installation

The package installs as the display's SI application. Installing over SI Server is the preferred path: it is the only one that can update itself later.

SI Server install Recommended

The display fetches the package itself and picks up new versions.

  1. Open Settings / SI Server Setting on the display.
  2. In Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) enter the package URL:
    https://portal.digital.ufficiopiu.dev/webos/com.lg.app.signage.ipk
  3. Set Application Launch Mode to Local.
  4. Set Application Type to IPK.
  5. Set Local Application Upgrade to Remote.
  6. Reboot the display.

If the display adds the package filename to the address itself, enter https://portal.digital.ufficiopiu.dev/webos/ instead. Both serve the same package.

USB / offline install

For displays without network access to this portal.

  1. Format a USB drive as FAT32.
  2. Create a folder named application at the drive root.
  3. Download the package below into that folder, keeping the filename.
  4. Insert the drive into the display.
  5. In SI Server Setting, set Application Launch Mode to Local, Application Type to IPK, and Local Application Upgrade to USB.

A USB install cannot update itself. Until SI Server is configured as above, every new version has to be installed from a drive again.
